Extreme Minimalism Meets Modern Interior Design in South Tampa:
A First-Time Homebuyer’s Transformation

When my clients, first-time homebuyers and soon-to-be parents, approached me with their vision, it was clear they had a unique dream for their new home.

They were extreme minimalists drawn to the simplicity of clean lines, functionality, and organic elements.

Their priorities were clear: an open floor plan, a single-level design, and a pool to enjoy Florida’s sunny days. This was more than just a remodel, it was a transformation of their new space into their forever home.

From Traditional to Open and Airy Renovation

The original layout of the South Tampa house featured a segmented floor plan, which clashed with their desire for openness. To achieve their vision, we needed to remove walls and install a steel beam to support the structure.

Partnering with a structural engineer, our team embraced this challenge, ensuring the design process was seamless and efficient.

Our design firm prides itself on being a one-stop shop. From conceptualization to execution, we guided our clients every step of the way.

Working closely with contractors and engineers, we made sure the renovation adhered to timelines and stayed within budget.

A Home Designed for Living

The final design captured the essence of who my clients are: purposeful, serene, and modern. The open floor plan highlights their love for simplicity and functionality, while the navy and white color scheme adds sophistication and warmth. Each space flows effortlessly into the next, making it the perfect environment for welcoming their new baby.

What Tom Brady is to the NFL, Madeline is to the design industry. It’s not often that the husbands of wives who hire designers go on to leave reviews, but after such an incredible experience overall, I literally felt compelled in my soul to go above and beyond to make sure everyone and their uncle gets an honest review about such an outstanding design firm.

From the beginning, I was scratching my head at why we would need a designer. Most were overpriced with only a few years of experience, and the most impressive thing about them was their social media.

‘Why can’t we just do this ourselves?’ I asked my wife. Three clueless minutes at the tile store immediately answered that question.

When we hired Madeline, at first it was because she was very affordable and her energy was so positive—especially during a time (remodeling) which can quickly become filled with pessimism and chaos. But after about a week, Madeline brought so much more to the table: she was so passionate about our home, I had to double-check the title to make sure she wasn’t on there.

She constantly delivered results in terms of deadlines (Madeline would have a new mood board fired up based on our feedback before I could even put my phone away).

She ALWAYS advocated on our behalf—working with contractors isn’t easy, and Madeline played any role we needed: from mafioso ‘we need this done for my client TODAY’ to killing city officials with kindness, to using deep industry relationships to expedite anything and everything. I swear she’s an angel.

Renovating a home is much like going to the hospital. Nobody really looks forward to it, you know it needs to be done, the rehabilitation usually takes longer than expected, and it typically hurts (especially financially). But every now and then, you’ll meet a charismatic doctor that empathizes completely and delivers a perspective-changing quality of service that you will literally never forget.

Madeline was that doctor for us, and my only complaint is that there is no 6-star option for impeccable service. 6/5 stars. Would recommend her to my family. Thanks for everything, Madeline & team.”
